Lawyer and graduate in Public Administration from FGV-SP, João is co-founder and Executive Director of the Rede Nacional de Educação Cidadã. He previously served as Executive Director of Escola Comum, and is currently a board member of the Associação Brasileira das Escolas do Legislativo e de Contas (ABEL). In 2024, he was recognized as a Young Global Changer by the German think tank Global Solutions Initiative (GSI), affiliated with the G20.

Juan Luis Fuentes Gómez-Calcerrada

Vice-Dean of International Relations at the Faculty of Education. He is also a Doctor with a European Mention in Pedagogy and holds an Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Complutense University, an Extraordinary Bachelor’s Award and a National Award for Excellence in Academic Performance. He is a Delegate of the Dean for Community Relations and Coordinator of the University Master’s Degree in Advanced Studies in Social Education at the Complutense University of Madrid. He is also a Member of the Research Group “Civic Culture and Educational Policies”.

Andrew Peterson

Professor of Character and Citizenship Education and Deputy Director of the Jubilee Centre of Character and Virtues. Formerly a school teacher, his research concentrates on the connections between character and citizenship education, particularly on the nature of civic virtues and their education in schools.
